I am the oldest of 5 from a small town in Vermont. I have been in, around, and taking photographs since I could hold a camera with my siblings often modeling for me. I have grown to fall in love with the studio overtime and I enjoy exploring bright colors, portraiture and a variety of styles.
I have had the opportunity to dive into a number of topics this past fall semester that I had yet to explore, and I have never felt so full of potential for progress in my personal work. I explored darkroom processes, a variety of cyanotype usages, 35mm color film photography and a variety of alternative photographic processes. I fell in love with color film photography towards the end of the semester and had the opportunity to get my own film camera that I was able to use for multiple projects. Through my Fine Art projects I enjoyed the opportunity to look at the themes of home, memory and therefore family. This prompt followed me through to my book that I made with the thought of my personal motivations for my life and my hardships. I also explore how the people in my life motivate me to succeed through the difficult times I have had. For my final Fine art project I shot a variety of film portraits exploring film within the studio setting.I feel I have been given the opportunity to grow a lot as an artist this semester and I am excited to see where my work grows from here.
